I have enjoyed my furniture and often get compliments from visitors and overnight guess. Very nice quality for the price. I really love leaving the door open to show off the bedrooms.
My sales person Khal S. always make it a good experience when I buy furniture. I always know what I am paying for and I feel comfortable knowing that he is knowledgeable in the merchandise. He is not pushy but does inform me of other products that I might need. He even told me about some decorative pieces that would match my furniture. I feel confident that I will receive great furniture at a great price. I'm glad to have him as my sales person.
I purchase two bedroom sets in 2015. I place them in layaway and paid them off in a few months. There was never a haggle on how much to pay as long as I made a payment each month. The staff was always curtious and friendly at the Portage location and at the location I would mail my payments, they even gave me payment envelopes.
I placed an order for new furniture over a month ago. In between me placing my order and yesterday, I called 3 times to see when I should expect my furniture. The response was always the same: “Your furniture is not in yet.” Growing frustrated with that reply, I decided to take a trip to the store yesterday to see what was going on. The initial employee told me that he was unauthorized to look up customer’s orders; that is typically a manager’s job. He told me he could call a manager and call me later. This answer was completely unacceptable as I have been getting runaround responses this entire time. I needed to know something about my furniture ASAP. He reluctantly called a manager who was able to assist me. From speaking with the manager, I was informed that no one fulfilled my order to have my furniture delivered to me! How is this possible? American Freight was ok with taking my money, but couldn’t be bothered with actually placing the order? Even worse, instead of telling me this, I was just misled by employees saying it wasn’t in. Of course unordered furniture wouldn’t come in! I am confused as to why nobody thought to check why the furniture was taking so long to arrive. If I hadn’t gone to the store to inquire about it, would I have ever been informed about the situation? Please do NOT spend your money with American Freight. For all they offer with discounted furniture, they lack in integrity and professionalism.

I bought two pieces of furniture from them. The couch was the third thing I have bought and it's been a nightmare since. I have been over charged and did not know this until I was going to use their financing company. I have been trying to find out for over two weeks now to see if this mess has been straighten out and can't get a straight answer. Mike has been trying to get it fixed but can't and the finance company they use is a joke. The store manager is very rude and disrespectful and does not want to deal with their mistakes. I will not be back again
